About: Tevinter Cinderella from a prestigious mage family who failed to manifest magic powers, eventually freed from her drudgery by a rich, charming Altus after sneaking out to attend a ball he'd hosted. Hubby immediately turned a 180 and tossed Ms. Pelt in the attic, hoping on the off chance she didn't produce a desirable heir, he would have free access to high quality blood. Ashey managed to bolt by climbing out the chimney, permanently staining the tips of her fingers. She managed to land a job in Rivain as a maid to a merchant's household and bounced around for years, finally ending up in Kirkwall working as a lady's maid and companion for an elderly lady. She was dismissed when the lady's son put his hand on her rear and she broke his nose.

Ashey is a former starry eyed dreamer who realized the world is a cruel, unforgiving place with people who will happily take advantage of you. Instead of becoming upset and bitter, she looked around, thought "Well, that's unpleasant." and immediately set about changing her circumstances. She is a methodical thinker who works through problems starting with the most logical route. Failure is frustrating and disheartening, but ultimately just a sign that it is necessary to escalate one's methods. Ashey Pelt is a fairly practical and down to earth person with a habit of taking absurd extremes because very often the reasonable and down to earth option did not work and one might as well attempt all options before giving up.

Despite having all of the upbringing and bearing of a wealthy Tevinter woman, her greatest pride is her laundering skill (she has 5 different methods that will remove any stain from any fabric without damaging the garment and is currently formulating three more) and her greatest joy is a quiet evening by the fire with a basket full of stockings and socks in need of darning.
